Spooky Cover
The objective for this piece was to capture a spooky/gritty theme using photography and graphics , while expanding the creativity boundaries to create a scene for an album cover. Experimenting with ideas on a blank photoshop canvas is usually how I start my process. Brainstorming ideas with shapes and text makes the process quicker by giving me the ideas I need to get to my goal. I knew I wanted to follow a halloween theme as it was around october and the project was called spooky. The zombie idea was in my mind from the beginning and once I found a variety of zombie cliparts I began to scatter and adjust the lighting and effects to make the scene look washed out and run down. The subtle blur and add of noise mixed with the eerie green background was perfect for my idea. Once everything was set in place I added some final touches like the birds, the washed out sun and subtle specs that made it look like the scene was shot on a dirty camera almost. The scene was complete.
